Back in March Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo took to the Internet in hopes of recording a new tune. Cuomo's plan: create a song generated by fan input via YouTube video responses. Starting the project off Cuomo's shed some knowledge like there are "99 ways to write a song," (and the bitch ain't one?) and that he wanted the tune to be "fun, poppy and tough at the same time."
To see the process in action check out step 13 where YouTube user ICEONELOVE helped with the chorus and Cuomo’s admitted his deep admiration for Rhianna’s "Umbrella."
With the working title "80s Radio" and some 14 steps later, add a few sub-steps in there too, the song is done and here for you listening pleasure. Eventually morphed to "Turnin' Up The Radio" the Cuomo and fan co-wwritten and produced track is awesome and very radio worthy. Listen to it below:
Sidenote: Weezer rules! For doing this.

Funny video with some of the best soccer goals ever !!
Interactivity, every band shall do this, at least one track of each new album shall be done a bit like this, in collaboration with fans, or even completely written by fans...
It's time to open a new era for new song writers !!

I love the concept, and I admire Weezer for involving the fans so much. The end result in this case, however, at least in my humble opinion, is a mediocre song....I'm just being honest!! It was still a great idea, and others should follow suit (like one song per album, maybe, as Universalis said).
