Michael Stipe isn't exactly camera shy. To see what I mean check out his doe-eyed mug on indiepixie's post.
Stipe and the rest of R.E.M. will now release the 192 page book R.E.M. HELLO consisting of pictures taken by Seattle-based photographer David Belisle on June 1st.
Of the 192 pages, 175 of them are color and black & white photographs of the band. According to book's publisher Chronicle Books:
David Belisle has photographed and traveled with R.E.M. for the past seven years; his dynamic images and insider’s perspective capture the band's performances, recording and video sessions, but also reveal its members in personal spaces that only the band and their closest friends inhabit.
These not-to-be-missed photos will most likely look like the snapshot below, taken from the Belisle's Web site.

Another sweet bonus are the handwritten captions by the band. And, the remaining seventeen pages will consist of the usual title page and etc. and also an introduction by the frontman himself, Michael Stipe.
To pre-order head here. The first 250 fans who pre-order the book will get a free poster, but time for that might be up.

nice - i actually hung out with David B. while i was living in Seattle - he did some band shots for my band at the time - he's an awesome guy - i knew he was involved somewhat with the R.E.M. crowd, but i did't realize it was to this extent - very cool!
