MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album:

A few weeks back I vented my disappointment over how few shows Radiohead were playing this summer and how most of these shows were major festivals. Last night while performing for on Late Nite With Conan O'Brien, as part of NBC's Green Week, googly-eyed frontman Thom Yorke shed some light on the lackluster tour schedule, and why he and his band choose to tape the performance in a studio in the U.K. instead of flying over for the gig.

"The reason we're not there is because it's a bloody long way." Really? No. Yorke and Co. were actually doing their part to save the planet with the pre-taping.

"Every time you fly to New York (from London) it’s the equivalent of driving your car for an entire year," Yorke preached in honor of Earth Day. He then went on to publicly bash president George W Bush on American television for walking away from the Kyoto agreement, before going into the In Rainbows track "House Of Cards."
