Artist:

Another summer, another new festival. Throw a dart at the board, see where it lands and viola! let's call in the tour buses.

This time the dart fell three hours northwest of Detroit in Rothbury, Michigan. The jamband friendly Rothbury Festival, scheduled for 4th of July weekend (July 3rd-6th), will feature headliners Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic and Phil Leash and Friends. Also playing will be John Mayer, Snoop Dogg, Mars Volta, 311 and Modest Mouse.

Rothbury, taking place on the Double JJ Ranch, will offer camping and on-site lodging. The festival is being put on by Madison House Presents and AEG Live (the people behind Coachella). Madison House artist scheduled to play the event include The Dresden Dolls, Drive-By Truckers, Secret Machines, Keller Williams, Michael Franti and Spearhead.

The Rothbury Festival (not to be confused with the UK's Rothbury Traditional Music Festival) is also taking some eco-friendly initiatives. For starters, the fest have an Energy Fair which will donate $50,000 toward an area school for solar panels. The fest will also include a Think Tank tent, where discussions on energy and climate crisis issues will be conducted.
