On his previous solo tour, Colin Meloy paid tribute to Morrissey and British folk singer Shirley Collins. This spring, when Meloy heads out on another solo trek, he will be singing the songs of soul legend Sam Cooke. Fans jonesing to hear it over and over again will be able to purchase the Colin Meloy Sings Sam Cooke EP from the merch stand.
They'll also be able to through some money down for Colin Meloy Sings Live!, which also hits music retail outlets on April 8th, a day after his tour kicks off in Austin, Texas. Portland-based indie folk singer Laura Gibson will open for Meloy's soul-loving tour.
