When you travel to off-the-beaten path countries you are advised not to drink the tap water. But when bands go on tour should they think twice before eating the catering backstage?Seems so. After a show at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA, members of My Chemical Romance and their crew as well as touring partners the Muse’s crew became violently ill with food poisoning and were taken to hospitals between State College, PA and Columbus, OH. Due to symptoms the tour, in support of My Chemical Romance's platinum album The Black Parade and Muse's album, Black Holes and Revelations came to a halt Sunday night with the cancellation of the concert in State College, PA, and the Tuesday, May 1st Columbus, OH show has been postponed to Wednesday, May 2nd, as long as everyone isn’t still glued to the can. May 2nd’s originally scheduled Pittsburgh, PA show has also been cancelled.According to their label’s press release: “My Chemical Romance and Muse would like their fans to know that they hope to resume the tour as soon as possible. Tickets for the April 29th Bryce Jordan and May 2nd Pittsburgh shows will be refunded at point of purchase and My Chemical Romance hope to make it back there before the end of the year.”America, is this how you treat one of the biggest bands in the country? Stuff ‘em with Ecoli? Geezus.
