DMX Ringing In New Year With Prison Sentence

2009 is looking sucky for rapper DMX. The Ruff Ryder, whose real name is Earl Simmons, "pleaded guilty":http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/dmx-heading-to-jail-on-drug-cruelty-charges-1003925967.story yesterday to three felony charges and one misdemeanor. The charges related to drug, theft and animal cruelty. DMX now faces at least 90 days in an Arizona jail. He remains in custody until Jan. 30th when he is scheduled to be sentenced. Hey, at least he'll get some good material for a new album.
The rapper actually cut a deal to spend only 3 months in the slammer. He had 3 criminal cases pending in Arizona, where he lives outside of Pheonix. Part of the deal included an agreement to never own any animals or posses firearms. Police found dog carcases and anorexic pitbulls on DMX's property this May. He has been arrested on multiple drug chrages. On top of all this he tried to assume a false identity at a treatment facility to avoid paying the bill. (It would have been very Hollywood if he got away with it.) But no, 90 days in the slammer is what DMX is looking at for '09

It would be too funny if he ended up in one of Joe Arpaia's tent-city prisons in Maricopa County. Happy pink undies DMZ! haha
