WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Rick Astley Makes A Special NYC Appearance

Posted 11 months ago

This Rick Astley "Rickroll" phenomenon isn't going to fade anytime soon. Astley, whose last album 2005's Portrait barely put a dent in the US market, is experiencing a universal comeback thanks to prank links taking innocent internet users to Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" video on YouTube. Two separate "Rickrolls," the term coined for the phony links, have garnered more than 12 million You Tube hits. Pretty amazing considering the only place you coudl find Astely's 1987 hit was on easy listening stations.

Astley got to step out of the woodwork yesterday during the 82nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Surprising the world as he jumped out of the 'Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends' float and performed his, now, timeless classic. While Astley has held up through the years, that little dance move of his hasn't.
