Beam Me Up Wolf Blitzer: CNN Holograms Will.i.am

Posted about 1 year ago

What a night America! By 11pm EST Americans took to the streets cheering the new President-elect Barack Obama. Obama, as it stands of November 5th noon EST, won 349 electoral votes to McCain's 163 and heads to the White House. You were probably glued to CNN watching chief national correspondent John King on his interactive map. Chances are you also witnessed CNN anchors Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper beam in several people into the "Situation Room."

For the first time in history, not only did Americans elect the first African-American President, but it witnessed hologramed reporting. Like a page out of Star Wars Episode IV, CNN beamed in via 3-D reporter Jessica Yellin, stationed in Chicago's Grant Park, into their NYC hub. The same went to Black Eyed Peas member Will.I. Am who chatted with Anderson Copper. Kind of crazy. Check it out below...

I saw this, and it was just way too gimicky for me.  It might be cool, but it is definitely not necessary.

That's so weird. On tv it just looks like a special effect, I'd like to see it in real life.
