NBC's little jingle might only be three notes - G E C - but the network is wrangling in talent for 21st century revamps of the network's theme song. The Flaming Lips, B.B. King, T.I., Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, The B-52's, Clint Black, Airborne Toxic Event and the network's own stars like The Office's Jenna Fischer and Heroes' Masi Oka have all contributed 8 second promos that feature their take on the famous three note jingle. The promos which celebrate 75 years of the jingle and peacock start airing around Thanksgiving. Check out EW's vlog of the Flaming Lips taping their promo here.

And yes, Wayne Coyne has managed to reinvent the guitar with bits and pieces of his Guitar Hero console. (photo via EW)

When he played the Star Bar in Atlanta's Little 5 Points, Creative Loafing's Music Menu column advised "Get there early, or else you won't be able to get near the stage bacause of the would-be guitar stranglers hoping to cop some licks."
And, of course:
Yeah it's a chaos pad that's linked to the guitar hero buttons. Genius.
Chaoscillator is the name of that device...only Coyne or maybe Mark Mothersbaugh could come up with that. Like pinkerton said...genius!
