Sage Francis Pens Song & Starts Fund For His Pal Arrested At RNC

Sage Francis got ticked of watching the YouTube footage of journalists getting arrested at last month's Republican National Convention, most notably Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman and two colleagues.

Francis' own pal, former roommate, and journalist Jared Paul was also taken in by the Minneapolis Police Department, and later bailed out of jail by Atmosphere's Slug. To help Paul out Francis has recorded a new tune titled "Conspiracy To Riot" which he'll be giving away for free at "ConspiracyToRiot.com,":http://www.strangefamousrecords.com/conspiracy/ a Web site he's set up to raise donations for Paul's arrest defense fund.

"This has less to do with a friend of mine possibly looking at jail time, and more to do with citizen's rights continually being trampled on," Francis said. "There are thousands of innocent people in jail right now because of their lack of finances. This is a principle thing as much as it is personal."
