Yesterday Radiohead announced one of four winners for their Aniboom animation competition, the competition that had fans upload their own music videos for the band's In Rainbow song "Reckoner" to the Aniboom animation site.
Clement Picon was the winner of the first $10,000 prize for his animated and evolution -inspired interpretation of "Reckoner." Originally Radiohead had intended on only choosing one victor, but the submissions were all so good the band put up another $30,000 so a total of four winners could be selected with each banking the $10,000.

You like? Do you think the $10,000 is a fair enough prize? Wouldn't they have paid someone WAY more to do it on their end?

My guess is that the quality of the work beat their expectations. I'm sure that piecce took that guy months, and if so, is probably worth so much more than 10K in labor. It's beautiful. Hopefully he could work out some residules deal on a future videos collection or something and make more.
I liked this... much better than the last radiohead video I saw a few months ago (I think it was radiohead), where they shot a video without using any cameras at all. everything was done using lasers or something.
Cool idea.... end result was kinda blah to me
A "Labour of Love" as "contra.." says..there appears to be a "fractal"-like logic to it,which computer based design often generates.. which leaves many people cold. He could probably get a job with "Adobe".
