What if the US government stopped funding a war in Iraq and gave contriutions to music sites, like Mog? Well, perhaps this concept seems like a long shot for the American constitution but elsewhere its happening.
According to digital media wire gave the Scottish governement gave a £230,000 grant ($406,000) to independent UK magazine Clash. First published in 2004, Clash plans on throwing this cash towards its online department, launched only this past January. This boost in the mag's piggy bank will add 18 new jobs to ClashMusic.com, which gets some 70,000 unique users as it is.

The grant, from the the Scottish Government's regional selective assistance (RSA) fund, was more excessive than usual donations to media outlets, raising some eyebrows.
I am not sure how this fund will skew Clash's point of view, a magazine focused on music, fashion, and other pop culture rhetoric. Will they talk nice about the monarchy? Will the Scottish flag make its way to the masthead? Regardless, would you read a magazine funded by the government?

Wow, thank god the government found something useful to spend its money on. Jsut think, that £230,000 could have just been wasted on, I don't know, employing ten teachers for a year...

uh...yea, that doesn't really make any sense.
i guess the fund was set up to specifically support social enterpirsies and private sector businesses.
