The original hand-painted, black and white Rolling Stones lips logo, was recently sold to London's Victoria and Albert Museum. The artwork was painted in 1970 by then art student John Pasche, who got the idea from his first meeting with the Stone's frontman Mick Jagger.
"Face to face with him," Pasche told the Gaurdian, "the first thing you were aware of was the size of his lips and his mouth."
So taking into account that it's got forty years on it, can be considered one of the most recognizable rock logo's (next to this one), and perhaps marks the first time a band used a logo to brand itself; how much would you say it's worth?
A) $92,500
B) $200,500
C) $575,225
D) $1.2 million
E) $2.7 million
Here's a hint: Did the guy not even approach any of the Stones to see if they wanted to purchase it for a heftier penny? Pasche will use the cash to pay for his eleven-year-old's private school.

I wonder if he ever got residules from the use of it, or if he sold it outright? My guess would be $2.7 Million. Which still seems cheap. I bet it will be 2 - 3x's as much when it resells.
based on the comment, I'm going to guess the lowest of the prices.
Maybe it's me, but I think it's a great thing that it will be in the V&A rather than Mick or Keith's living room. The V&A is a museum for decorative arts and design and the lips logo is iconic in both music design and British culture. Best place for it so everyone can go see it.
Agreed, it belongs in a museum next to Keith Richards liver.
i'll give the answer at the end of the day, but if you cant wait... google away.
I did google away and guess what's return no. 1? YOU, you star you. OK, so now I know the rprice and it's about what I figured. If I remember correctly, the Stones paid £150 flat fee for the logo. In those days that was a very good fee.
But what a story he'll always have for ....his grandkids or whoever wants to hear about it!
92,500, which was a steal, IMO
