Pitchfork Music Festival Starts In 5 Hours And It's Pouring Outside

Artist:

It's pouring and the forth annual Pitchfork Music Festival kicks off in 5 hours. I think I hear thunder too. Bummer. I'm pretty nonchalant about the festval this year and it's not the rain that's bumming me out. I've been going since it launched as the Intonation Music Festival back in '04 and this year's line-up just doesn't get me as pumped as years past. It's always been the launching pad for so many new buzz indie acts but this year i feel like I've seen most of the bands live already.
Animal Collective (check), Hold Steady (check), Vampire Weekend (check), !!! (check) M.Ward (check), Dinosaur Jr. (check), Spoon (check). Sure, I'm down to see them again, but I want to be jilted off my hipster wannabe ass with surprises when it comes to this fest.
But there are TWO things I'm pumped about for this years. Public Enemy performing It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back tonight as part of the All Tomorrow's Parties. I'm not sure if Flavor Flav will show up with his reality TV lady friends, but this is a blast from the past I am looking forward to. Then there's Sunday evening. Perhaps the most interesting back to back of the entire weekend: The Dodos into Bon Iver into Cut Copy.
Ok, Ok, Ok so maybe there is a bunch to look forward to. I just want it to be one of those things where I leave with a bunch of CD in my hand and all hyper about the music I saw that I need to share with my friends. Keeping my fingers crossed!

charley i hope you find some good surprises there regardless and it's likely public enemy's performance could fulfill the void. have a blast!
"The Dodos into Bon Iver into Cut Copy." Yeah I would say that is a pretty interesting line up, but shit what a line up it is! I'd be pretty darn psyched if I were you. Have a rockin' time!

I saw P.E. when they opened up for U2 on the Actung Baby tour at the Astrodome in Houston. They were awesome.
