WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Finally... Listen To First Track From One Day As A Lion

Posted about 1 year ago

"World International" is the first taste you'll get of the Zach De La Rocha (Rage Against The Machine) and Jon Theodore (Mars Volta) sideproject One Day As A Lion. The track is streaming on ODAAL "MySpace page.":http://www.myspace.com/onedayasalion and is the first leak of the band's debut self-titled EP, out July 22nd.

I like the first track from One Day As A Lion, but I'm also annoyed by it. "World International" doesn't sound like anything I haven't heard before. It's Zach De La Rocha's usual hardcore rap/rock over hard beats. I was expecting something spicier and more wild - a new sound. If these guys didn't have their previous preceeding bands to live up to, this would have been a great platform to launch from.

Maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone else agree it falls into the catagory of "meh"?

I agree it sounds the same but that's ok. There isn't really a Rage anymore (though I know they are playing around) but this is something that there is a demand for.

The comments on the page seem very positive. Wll be interresting to see what their live shows are like.

i was really excited when i saw this pop up in my email. yea, the song is really good, but does it change the world, maybe not as much as expected. curse of the hype. still, when it comes out, Im going to play the hell out of it regardless of its quality. thanks for the heads up charley!

It's okay.  By that, I mean I really like it, but I agree that it's not anything new or different.  In fact, I hear more electronics incorporated and less of the phunk that defines RATM.  It's not as impressive.  This is not supposed to be a substitute for RATM, but seems to come off just as that.
