Anyone Up For A Game Of "Favorite Bjork Outfit?"

Posted about 1 year ago

What I would give to be five and play dress-up in Bjork's closet.

The "Where It All Began"

The "Not Another Poor Little Bird!"

The "Mandarin"

The "Genghis"

The "Monarch"

The "Horton Hears A Who"

The "Olympic"

The "My Crayolas Just Attacked"

The "This Is Me On A Mellow Dress Day"

The "Silly String"

The "Little Red"

The "Wanna Be Startin' Something"

As soon as I saw this in my inbox:

"Charley Rogulewski, one of your trusted MOGs, has posted a blog entry entitled: Anyone Up For A Game Of "Favorite Bjork Outfit?" "

my immediate thought was 'the swan one!', so I'm going to go with that. Although I agree with brittany, that Horton hat is awesome.

She's so totally rad.  I knew a guy that had a clothing store in Miami and in the mid-90's he said that Goldie came to DJ and he brought Bjork with him.  He said she came in later and made a very quiet cute entrance.  She had some sand from the beach in her hands and she threw it up into the air with glee and whispered something about the beach wantiing to be a part of his store.  I can't get that image out of my head.  I like this image from her wiki too.

She does a mighty effective job of making herself look really unappealing in most of these outfits.  Such a waste of good looks.

I like her on the back of the flat bed, wearing (I think) just a slip.  Was  that the "Violently Happy" video?

i thought the same thing as john...the SWAN. i remember seeing her on whatever awards show that was, whatever year that was (i wanna say i was about twelve or so) and thinking she was insane. i haven't seen any of those other outfits...vertifiably insane.

I think the 'slip on a flatbed' one was from 'Big Time Sensuality'. Tremendous song, and really takes me back...

Wow. I say "The Olympic" cause she looks as if she's going to fall over. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much fabric.

So the story behind that one Bixby is it's from the 2004 games in Greece. She performed Oceania and her dress unraveled over the entire floor of the stadium like an ocean wave. Sorry for the French tv intro.

Ah. Thanks, Charlie. It does make sense.

But it's still a hell of a lot of fabric.

I think the way she handles all that fabric is because there's an army of invisible elves and fairies working behind the scenes that are helping her not trip up.  :)

thank god there are artists like Bjork that have the nerve to "march" to their own drummers. There will be hits and misses,  every good artist has them
