Today the good news that Madonna has sold over one million tickets to her Sticky & Sweet tour is overshadowed by British media reports that the pop queen is getting a divorce to her husband of seven years, director Guy Ritchie.
"The London Times is confirming":http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/article4215015.ece that Madonna has hired the same divorce attorney that Paul McCartney had, Fiona Shackleton. It is believed that Madonna did not sign a pre-nup and that her £300 million is up for grabs. Without a pre-nup negotiations start at 50/50.
Shackleton was able to get British court to only give McCartney's moneyhungry ex-wife Heather Mills £24.3 million of his £825 million fortune, after Mills had requested much more than that. McCartney had also not signed a pre-nup. Shackleton was so successful that Mills dumped water over her head after she didn't get as much money as she wanted from McCartney.
Madonna and Guy have two children together, Rocco, 7, and adopted son David, 2. Madonna has one other child Lourdes, 11, from a previous relationship.
Maybe Ritchie will go on to make good movies again like he did pre-Madonna days.

I'm a big Guy Ritchie fan. His new movie Revolver (just out on DVD) is fantastic (to me at least), though I found it odd that I had to watch it with subtitles and that it turns out that in several places you cannot tell what the foreign characters are saying, but the subtitles reveal it!
In my mind his talent far exceeds her hype & publicity machine.
I guess Guy won’t be quite as Ritchie now
Thought i remember her denying that there was a divorce comong just recently.
Charlie, good stuff you are posting.

Weird, I never, ever saw this coming....
Not. Actually, ever since she was at the RRHoF with JT and he appeared on her album and the video, I thought they'd hook up. Little May-December thing.
Justin and Madonna? Boy does that erk me something fierce. Makes me think of a female version of the creepy old man on Family Guy. "Hey there little man, would you like some candy? Some hard candy?"
Yes she looks good for her age, but you can't tell me that it doesn't look like she's wearing granny-panties on her album...
Surprised their marriage lasted this long!
what August said.
Word!
I didn't know that Heather Mills dumped water over Paul's lawyer's head......now I like her even less than I did before (which I didn't think was possible).
I am for the idea that Guy will start making good movies again......I can only hope
JT & Madonna...i don't know about that one. She woudl be the one banking of that hook-up in my opinion.
(Thanks serenaspun)
So sad if it's true; I always hate to see this happen no matter who it is. The squabbling over kids, possessions....what if Madonna doesn't get to keep her fake British accent?!
I am actually shocked that Madonna and Guy did not have a pre-nup. Hmm..that is pretty insane with her coming into the marriage with her fortune and his financial security too. Obviously someone was not talking to Madonna about the importance of creating her estate for herself before signing that marriage contract. Reading stories like this over and over about no pre-nups just lets me know that people do not learn from other's mistakes.
All I have to say is Johnny Carson! http://www.rezoom.com/money/from-the-vault/read/5172/johnny-carson/
I know Madonna and Guy's case is dealing with English law which I know nothing about but I am just saying learn from Johnny!
I think Ritchie has/had some money of his own. Meanwhile, his films certainly couldn't get any worse than that shitty Madonga-centric remake of "Swept Away." (Not a big fan of the jerry-built "Revolver," either.) And don't get me started on Her Highness the Producer-Vampire...
aww this is actually kinda sad. I mean, pop princess looses prince....she was on a good streak for a while- this turbulence might turn her back into voodoo and karmic retribution...
oh god ...please no. although "Frozen" and "Pwer of Goodbye" are good tracks.
she may start pulling a sharon stone! damning all of china!
Bad person that I am, any news that might result in Madonna's unhappiness makes me smile big time.
careful derm, she is the queen of pop...and bears the right to go off with your head in the fake british accent of hers.
