The reviews from the first night of Pearl Jam's two-night stint at NYC's Madison Square Garden made it sound like people missed out on the best concert ever. Eddie Vedder and co. were really going to have to work hard to out due themselves the second night, and they did.

Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley and Ramones bassist C.J. Ramone came out for a few songs. Frehley played on a cover of Kiss' "Black Diamond," while Ramone came out for a cover of his band's "I Believe in Miracles." Other classics played last night wer PJ's own "Alive," "Even Flow," "Daughter" and "Corduroy.

If you missed it, don't worry. In two weeks time the bootleg of the album will be availbale exclusively via PJ's fan club the Ten Club, at www.pearljam.com.

this is really cool. Knowing how big A Ramones fan Eddie is.......I'm sure this was a thrill for him, plus it is great to see other musicians who have already gained their own fame give a sort of homage and tribute to a great band like Pearl Jam. good stuff.

To me, Dee Dee is "the" ramones bass player, even though they had to fill his slot

One of the highlights of my youth was meeting Joey Ramone outside a Lou Reed concert at the old Ritz on 11th.

Crazy/cool summit, no matter what significant musicians checked in.

Yes....I bet it was great to see.  I'm a big Pearl Jam fan and I've always loved the Ramones, although I never liked Kiss (on the third hand, though, Ace Frehley was the least irritating of the band, in my opinion).

A friend of mine here in Atlanta, (David Lindsay, the crazed movie reviewer i've mentioned before), went to a matinee performance of a re-release of the cult SF film, Dark Star (wich gave the world John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon and inspired stuff in Star Wars). The Theatre (since gone) was in the same shopping center as the latew lamented Great Southeast Music Hall.

Dave said he eventually realised that there were only three other people in the theatre with him, Joey Ramone, his girlfriend and the Ramones' manager...

Lyrics for Benson Arizona and more can be found here.  (Other people, in cluding Yours Truly, have written further verses, too).

After seeing them at Bonnaroo, I'm sad I didn't hussle to the MSG shows now that I'm reading all the good reviews. I thought I'd get PJ overload. Now I'm noticing there probably isn't such a thing.
