Two Led Zeppelin Members Jam With The Foo Fighters

Posted about 1 year ago
"Welcome to the greatest day of my life," Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told a crowd of 86,000.What was so great about it? Two surviving members (outta three) of Led Zeppelin reunited onstage during the band's June 7th "in the round" concert at Wembley Stadium. Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and guitarist Jimmy Page joined the Foo Fighters on stage for the band's own "Monkey Wrench" as well as Zeppelin classics "Rock And Roll" and "Ramble On." This was the first time Page and Jones had performed together since Led Zeppelin's December 2007 reunion at the stadium."We knew from the beginning this wasn't going to be another outdoor show," Grohl said before introducing the iconic rockers. "We have been planning this for six months..." The show was the second in a two night residency for the Foos at London's Wembley Stadium. Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant wasn't around because of touring obligations with Alison Krauss, who play Bonnaroo music festival next weekend. Does this mean anything for the Led Zeppelin reunion tour rumor?

  1. Jonh Ingham says Dave Grohl must have been in heaven. At the Zep reunion gig he was bouncing up and down on the shoulders of a friend like an over-excited twelve year old.

  2. BecauseYouAreHere says Do you blame him? If he had been born in Seattle instead of Ohio, I think the only 2 times he could have seen them live would have been 1970 or 1975 at the Seattle Center Coliseum. So Dave would have either been 1 or 6 - don't think the folks would have taken him!
