Sigur Ros Prep Massive Deluxe Edition Of New Album; Watch Abbey Road Recording Session

Posted about 1 year ago
For those of you wondering where Sigur Ros filmed the video for "Gobbldigook," the first single off their fifth studio album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, where everyone runs around naked in an undisclosed enchanted forest looking like they are praising the gods of fire...I've got your answer. The video was taped in "Caumsett State Historic Park":http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=51367 in New York, on the northern shore of Long Island. The band have released a "making of" the video via an uber-widget (see below), as well as footage of the band recording the album at the world famous Abbey Road studios. But the uber-widget doesn't hold a candlestick to the deluxe edition of Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. The swanky deluxe edition of Með.... (yours for a dirty benjy) gets its swank on with 192 pages of photographs taken by photog Eva Vermandel and bound in a woven cloth hardback book. Each is numbered to add some extra bling-bling to the product. Here's a picture:In addition to the artsy photos, film-maker Nicholas Abrahams tagged along with the Ros to capture token, supplemental, special edition DVD footage: tour rehearsals, some early concert stops in support of the new album and exclusive band interviews. While the album comes out in June, the deluxe edition won't be ready till September 15th. All this and different album packages ranging from digital/physical, digital only and etc. for the Sigur Ros album with an extremely long title that no one can pronounce are available at the band's "Web site.":http://www.sigurros.com/main/AlbumList.asp?ArID=1&AID=64&lng=EN

  3. River Lethe says The great thing about my major-label music boycott (yes, I'm still doing it, and I haven't bought any all year), is that I get to splurge on these kinds of special packages, which I did. It can go alongside my special editions of In Rainbows and Ghosts, and I can know the dollars have gone to the creative people and not just suits. Really looking forward to the DVD that comes with it.
