Phish's Trey Anastasio Would Give His "Left Nut" To Play YEM Again

Posted about 1 year ago
After Phish split in 2004 frontman Trey Anastasio spit some angry words that made hippies across the nation cry...something about not wanting to play the same 25 minute jams over and over again. Recently Mr. Anastasio went back on his words in a little chat with Rolling Stone:“When Phish broke up, I made some comment about how I’m not gonna go around playing ‘You Enjoy Myself’ for the rest of my life,” Anastasio told Rolling Stone. “And it’s so funny because Fish and Mike and Page have been talking to each other a lot lately and now — it’s not that I can’t believe that I said that, but its symbolic of how much I lost my mind or how much I lost my bearings or something. Because at this point in time I would give my left nut to play that song five times in a row every day until I die. I certainly thought about that while I was in jail.”This past January Anastasio spent two days in the can after he violated the terms of his participation in New York's Washington County Drug Treatment Court. The treatment stemmed from a 2006 arrest in Whitehall, NY on charges of DWI-drugs, driving with a suspended license, and possessing prescription drugs. The drugs included heroin and the prescription drugs hydrocodone, alprazolam, and oxycodone. With that all aside now, is it safe to say: Convert your VWs to bio-diesel folks, after only four years apart, a Phish reunion is near?

Keeping my fingers crossed.

From Phish.com about the release of the Walnut Creek 1997 Summer show DVD. Incredible show by the way with one of the best transitions to Mike's.

"Anyone who pre-orders the DVD from Dry Goods will receive "Phish: Left Nuts," a bonus CD featuring more than 75 minutes of previously unreleased music from Phish's past performances at Walnut Creek, produced specifically for this release."

As least they still have a sense of humor.
