The mess that is Phil Spector will go on trial AGAIN for the murder of Lana Clarkson. For those of you with a short memory the jury in the five-month trial was left with a hung jury (10-2 in favor of the guilty verdict) after a 12 day deliberation.
Following the first go most of Spector's defense team quit procrastinating the start of the retrial.
The same judge, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler, will preside in the retrial which will begin on Sept. 29th. However, Spector's new croonies are looking to have Fidler taken off the case. They say the judge is biased from hearing the original trial.
Actress Lana Clarkson, 40, was shot in the mouth at Spector's LA mansion, after Spector, prosecutors allege, prevented her from leaving the compound in February of 2003. The defense believes Clarkson may have committed suicide. However, Spector's driver called police to report the murder.

When this first happened, I read where, just after the shooting, Phil's limo driver saw him come out the front door with a gun in his hand, saying " I just shot somebody." Wonder what happened to HIS testimony? Scary little man that Phil Spector, and gun happy.
