Treasure Island Festival Returns With Raconteurs & Justice

Posted about 1 year ago
Last year after the inaugural "Treasure Island Music Festival,":www.treasureislandfestival.com MOG was lit up with posts about the event, posts that made me wish I was there.(Wow!)The fest returns Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st for its second year at the same locale, the little island between the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. Along with headliners the Raconteurs and Justice, confirmed for the "boutique" festival, referred to as "Micro-chella" by the SF Chronicle, are TV On the Radio, Hot Chip, CSS, Aesop Rock, Goldfrapp, the Kills, Tegan & Sara, Vampire Weekend and more. A complete list is below. From my last trip to San Fran the only thing about the festival that would bug me out is the really sharp turn you have to take off the bridge to enter Yerba Buena/Treasure Island. Traffic on that must be a bitch, but luckily festival promoters Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment will provide complimentary transportation to the island on bio-diesel buses. (Will Willie Nelson be driving?)The festival will run from noon to 10PM everyday with single day tickets costing $65.00, and two-day tickets going for $115.00. VIP tickets will sell as a four-packs for each day and will include VIP parking, VIP Lounge access and VIP viewing areas for $445.00. A limited number of early bird two-day tickets will be available for $99.00 through the festival pre-sale.Saturday, September 20thJUSTICETV ON THE RADIOGOLDFRAPPHOT CHIPCSSANTIBALASAESOP ROCKAMON TOBINFOALSMIKE RELMNORTEC: BOSTICH + FUSSIBLESunday, September 21stTHE RACONTEURSTEGAN & SARAVAMPIRE WEEKENDSPIRITUALIZEDOKKERVIL RIVERTOKYO POLICE CLUBTHE KILLSDR. 7. mollifire says some of the nicest boating in the Bay is around the festival site. well, not boating per say, but the kind where you park the boat and party! there's lovely coves around there with great acoustics. last year, the festival was all fenced off so that boats couldn't see in or get in : ( renting a boat would be sweet for a MOG after party for moggers and friends! i'm in! 'specially if Charley's whipping up MOG-O-Ritas!!!
