  1. funoka says I saw both the Smile tour and the Pet Sounds anniversary tour (with Al Jardine guesting) and even though Brian sings off teleprompters -- his shows are far more authentic and rewarding than anything Mike Love does touring as "The Beach Boys." I too hope the new CD is a success. In retrospect, I hope it is as good as Love & Mercy.

  3. Scotch says And even more tangential, I saw John Stamos play in a Battle of the Surf Bands in Huntington Beach WAY back in the mid-early 90s. Didn't stick around for him to finish, though. Nothing against him, but I saw who I came to see - mainly Dick Dale, but also Jan & Dean, The Ventures, and some others. I really need to dig that poster out, so I can remember. :P Brian Wilson is a genius, and I wish he played that show. Too bad he's not going to be playing anywhere near me any time soon.

  4. dermahrk says I will be buying it for sure. BTW, there is a word of difference between the The Beach Boys' new album and The Beach Boy's new album. Never has the placement of an apostrophe meant so much to so many.... ;-)
