Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen who? 2008 is shaping up to be the year of one-name (sober-er) wonders, namely Welsh songstress "Duffy":http://www.myspace.com/duffymyspace and Swedish pop sensation "Robyn.":http://www.myspace.com/robynmyspaceBoth ladies have been playing the late night talk show circuits recently. Robyn however, just got booked to perform on ABC's The View Thursday, May 15th, leading her to postpone two shows (Portland on May 13 at Berbati's Pan and Seattle May 14 at Neumos.) Dayum! I would have never thought ol' Barbara Walters would be getting down to Robyn, but then again I would have never thought "this either":http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/books/05/01/tv.walters.affair.ap/index.html To top it off Robyn just made another video for her track "Handle Me" off her 2005 self-titled debut, which was only released here in the US in 2007, but is getting hyped now in 2008. You know, because America is like three years back from those hip Swedes.Latest and 3rd (shorter) video for "Handle Me:"2nd video for "Handle Me:"Original video for "Handle Me:"DUFFY- "Mercy"

  5. Charley Rogulewski says Great find Robin. I so agree with what Ronson said in that article Ronson: Producer Mark Ronson, who won a Grammy this year for his work with Winehouse and has produced for Allen, said people are intrigued about British female artists now because before those singers made a flourish in 2007, British women hadn't had much of an impact on the charts in recent years. "For a long time, the female solo artist, all of the U.S. pop ones ... had a real stranglehold on the pop music charts," Ronson told the AP.
