WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Radiohead Heading Back Into Studio

Posted about 1 year ago
It's been only five months since the digital release of Radiohead's In Rainbows and already the band is heading back into the studio with producer Nigel Goodrich to record more music.Speaking with Pitchfork bassist Colin Greenwood admitted that with the digital release name-your-own price tactic the band "were trying to create an event." Part of the reason behind the innovative release stems with Radiohead apprehension towards studio time."It takes so long to make a record and then it takes so long again to release it," Greenwood says."It would be really nice to be able to put out releases that wouldn't be conditional upon an album format, and just put out music in different ways," he says about future Radiohead projects.About heading into the studio again, Greenwood said the band were planning on working with Goodrich soon. "We've reserved time and we've got stuff we want to do. It's like having and old-school executive producer that's talking about the bigger picture and booking time to be creative. Dr. Phil would be proud."The interview is a great read. "Head here":http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/49337-interview-radiohead to see the whole thing. My favorite excerpt from the interview:Pitchfork: The Pitchfork review of Hail to the Thief put forth the idea that "anything Radiohead does from here on out will sound like Radiohead"...CG: That's like a late-night stoner comment. At about three in the morning-- after you've put on Captain Beefheart and you put the red scarf over the light bulb-- it makes a lot of sense. But the next morning you're like, "I don't know, maybe the world is fucked and we didn't solve it." So I don't know about that.
