Alanis Morissette's First Album In Four Years Offers New "Flavors"

News of a new Alanis Morissette album "hit MOG last December.":http://mog.com/dj_ivi/blog_post/131587Now comes the news that Morissette’s new album, her first in four years, will be called Flavors Of Entanglement and is due May 20th. The former You Can’t Do That On Television star collaborated with writer/producer Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Imogen Heap) for the album, which makes sense considering that the “My Humps” video she did catapulted her into the on-the-verge-of-cuckoo expressionist area. The video has been viewed over 12 million times on YouTube.Morissette channeled her inner shaman on the new album. “Underneath" is a track that preaches the Ghandi belief "You must be the change you want to see in the world." Just by the titles - "Versions of Violence" and "Citizen of the Planet" – fans can get a feel of the nag champa Morissette has been burning. Other tracks on Flavors Of Entanglement include “In Praise of the Vulnerable Man," “Tapes,” "Moratorium," “Not As We.” "I often write in retrospect, but this was written in real time," Morissette says. "This record helped me through some fragile moments. Every song was like a life raft." Morissette will embark on a world tour this June after finishing up on her current run with Matchbox 20 and Mute Math.Morissette, Matchbox 20, Mute Math tour dates:March 12 San Jose, CA HP PavilionMarch 14 Reno, NV Reno Events CenterMarch 16 Los Angeles, CA Staples Center ArenaMarch 17 Phoenix, AZ Cricket PavilionMarch 18 Las Vegas, NV The Pearl Concert Theater
