Pete Townshend, Garth Hudson, Donald Fagen & More Guest On New Martha Wainwright Album

Posted about 1 year ago
Martha Wainwright, sister to Rufus and daughter to Loudon, will release her sophomore album I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too on June 10th, 2008. The racy titled album and follow-up to her 2005 self-titled effort also sports some heavy names. Pete Townshend, the Band's Garth Hudson, and Steely Dan's Donald Fagen, along with her family Rufus, mother Kate McGarrigle, aunt Anna McGarrigle, and first cousin Lily Lanken all contribute to the new 14-track effort. (I wonder if some uncles are pissed they didn't make the cut).Wainwright, wrote twelve original songs for I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too. For the other two tracks she went presumably back to her high school CD collection, covering Pink Floyd's "See Emily Play" and the Eurythmics' "Love is A Stranger."I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too track list: 1. 1. Hammerogod says Martha is sort of chameleonic..I can't get a grip on who she really is musically. But, after seeing her on Letterman I started getting interested in her. If Donald Fagn thinks she is alright then she is probably alright. Her kinship to the Wainwright family is an interesting sidelight...I am not sure if it works for her or against her. 2. BerkeleyBob says She had a rough time of it opening for the Swell Season in SF.in January. She did it as a solo act, audience was interested in seeing Glen and Marketa and talked during her set. She has an unusual voice, strong material and some real issues, familial and gender based. I got her EP and given the quality of the guest musicians will take a flier on her new effort. BerkBob
