We Are Scientists are going to surprise fans with a completely new sound when their sophomore album Brain Thrust Mastery hits shelves. So far a UK/European release date of March 17th for the album has only been announced. The band, now the duo of guitarist/lead vocalist Keith Murray and bassist/backing vocalist (now mustache-less) Chris Cain following the departure of drummer Michael Tapper, are delivering a more layered and full sound on the follow-up to 2005's With Love and Squalor. The band are whoring themselves in the UK and Europe for awhile, touring through early May, before they head to the US. Earlier this week the first single from the album, "After Hours" hit airwaves. Hear the difference in their sound in the video clip for the track below.Brain Thrust Mastery:1. Ghouls2. Let's See It3. 1. SA says The album does sound pretty nice, a bit of a different route than the first one. Still have to give it a couple of spins before I can say anything definite about it. ;)
