Posted about 1 year ago
The Rolling Stones' soundtrack Shine A Light for the Martin Scorsese rockumentary of the same name will be available in two version: a two-disc, 22-track live album and a 16-track soundtrack. Both albums, recorded at New York's Beacon Theatre on October 29 and November 1, 2006, contain Stones classics and not one track from the band's most recent studio album, A Bigger Bang, which the Stones were touring behind at the time. However the expanded double disc album includes every track from the film, plus four bonus tracks from the shows that were not included in the film- "Paint It Black", "Little T&A", "Shine A Light" and "I'm Free"Jack White's collaboration on "Loving Cup," Buddy Guy's on "Champagne and Reefer" and Christina Aguilera's on "Live With Me" end up on both album. The Stones also cover the Temptations' "Just My Imagination" on both sets. Both album hits stores on April 1st in the US, while the rockumentary hits theaters on April 4th. 1. anna log says plus four bonus tracks from the shows that were not included in the film- "Paint It Black", "Little T&A", "Shine A Light" and "I'm Free" is it just me - or isn't it LAME that the movie is entitled SHINE A LIGHT and the song was NOT included in the film???? Scorsese falling down on the job! "Shine a Light" is easily Jagger's best vocal performance EVER in his entire canon... when he sings the verse that starts with "angels beating all their wings in time" --- man, that gets me every time. Pure soul. I don't care that he is the epitome of White Demon. When he sings "Shine a Light," he is the best singer ever.
