Yoko Ono Turns 75, The Strokes Help Her Celebrate

Posted about 1 year ago
Yoko Ono celebrated her 75th birthday last night with musicians ranging from David Byrne to the Strokes. Ono organized the party with her John Lennon spawn, Sean Lennon, and hosted about 150 people at NYC's Joe's Pub. Ono performed a handful of tunes from the stage, including 'Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her Hand In The Snow).' Members of the B-52s, as well as her son accompanied her onstage. Rufus Wainwright also performed a tune for Ono.She later blew out candles on a cake that resembled her chess-themed art piece, "Play It by Trust."

  1. Chuck Guest says I got to attend one of her shows in Prague. Her art is bold, open, generous and playful. I have to assume she is, too. Happy Birthday, Yoko!
