Kanye West, Metallica, Pearl Jam Head To Bonnaroo '08

Kanye West and Metallica may have ignored the US festival circuit last year, but this year both Metallica and Mr. West return as main headliners for the 2008 Bonnaroo Music Festival. The festival is being held at its original location in Manchester, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, between June 12th-15th.Joining the two will be Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, The Raconteurs, Death Cab for Cutie, M.I.A., and My Morning Jacket. Like years past the Bonnaroo line-up is diverse. Bluegrass (Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer and Bryan Sutton) sets will be followed by blues sets (BB King) and classic rock vets (Levon Helm and the Ramble on the Road, the Allman Brothers) will also take the stage. There will be familiar, returning faces (Phil Lesh and Friends) as well as some distant transplants (Sigur Ros), college favs (Ben Folds, Iron & Wine, O.A.R.) and the batch of up-and-comers (Vampire Weekend, Ghostland Observatory, MGMT). Other showings for hip hop include Talib Kweli and Lupe Fiasco. As for those Led Zeppelin rumors...only Robert Plant will show up, playing with Alison Krauss, as mentioned earlier. Although, more artists will be announced in the future.In addition to the music, Bonnaroo's successful comedy tent returns for its fourth year.
