David Bryne, Grizzly Bear Among Artists Joining Paul Simon During BAM Residency

Paul Simon isn't exactly hitting the road. The iconic singer-songwriter will be holding an unprescedented month-long residency at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, starting April first adn ending April 27th. "Love in Hard Times: The Music of Paul Simon": will feature three installments - ‘Songs from The Capeman’, ‘Under African Skies, and ‘American Tunes’ - with Simon inviting different musicians to join him for each leg.Kicking off the month-long journey through Simon's repertoire is 'Songs from The Capeman,' Simon's short-lived Broadway musical. Scheduled for April 1st through the 6th, the performances will focus on Latin beats and 50s doo-wop and feature Oscar Hernández and The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Claudette Sierra, Obie Bermudez, Ray De La Pal and Little Anthony and The Imperials.From April 9th-13th Simon will perform songs from his epic South African-inspired album Graceland and Brazilian-infused The Rhythm of the Saints albums. Talking Head vet David Byrne, South African singer Hugh Masekela, Cyro Baptsta, Milton Nascimento, Kaïssa, Luciana Souza and more will perform with Simon for the run of shows. Lastly, for the third installment 'American Tunes' Simon "revisits the quiet railway stations, urban rhythms, and immigrant dreams of his greatest" songs from his career. The last leg, April 23-27th, features performers Olu Dara, Grizzly Bear, The Roches. Paul Simon's last album was 2006's Surprise.
