What's better than that feeling you get when you find a forgetten five dollar bill in your back pocket? News that Radiohead are in the studio - for a week now - working on the follow-up to 2007's In Rainbows with longtime producer Nigel Godrich.
Bassist Colin Greenwood described the initial studio session as "very noisy and chaotic and really fun" in an interview with BBC 6 Music. But before you get too excited that you'll be paying what you want for the next Radiohead album, Greenwood didn't dish on a release date, title, or even if the band were going to follow the now famous prototype of their last album's release.
"We were just saying to people how much do you think we're worth? It's like a long term relationship and it was great because it kicked off lots of debate about it," he explained of the name-your-price method.
As for the in-the-works album, what would be Radiohead's eighth from the studio, Greenwood added, "It's at the stage where we've got the big Lego box out and we've tipped it out on the floor and we're just looking at all the bits and thinking what's next? I'm very impressed and grateful for Nigel our producer and his ability to make it all sound vaguely plausible."
Those seeing the band at one of their four stops this summer - Prague, Czech Republic (8/23), Poznan, Poland (8/25), Leeds Festival, UK (8/29), Reading Festival, UK (8/30) - have a better chance at hearing the Legos put together before the rest of us.

Can't wait to see how they decide to release this one.
Cant WAIT to hear it!
CANT WAIT is right!
another great one in the works
How much more can the band do? They can only revolutionize an industry so many times. Then again, could the music world take it if Radiohead released a bad album? I don't think it could, which is probably why people loved Amnesiac more than it probably deserved.
has it really been two years? dang time flies
