Rumor Alert: Led Zeppelin Overheard Taking About US Gigs

Posted over 2 years ago
There are some rumors you just pass up, but then there are those that you hear and you want to pass on to every person you know. This would be one of them. The "this" being that Led Zeppelin may possibly play three nights at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden (I'm there!). According to a report from UK tabloid The Sun someone backstage at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert on December 10th overheard an exchange about future shows. "The band were really fired up and were talking about their late drummer John Bonham and what he would have thought about it - it was a time for reflection. Then the talk went to, 'What next? Was this it or would there be something else?' One of the guys started talking about their three concerts at the Garden. There was a consensus of, 'Why not?'"Well, if that's not enough to start you saving up for a ticket...Live from O2 Arena:While there has been no confirmation for future Led Zeppelin shows, this is by far not the first time rumors of a follow-up tour to the band's reunion gig at the O2 arena have come up. The Cult's lead singer Ian Astbury spilled the beans on the band opening up for Zeppelin next year at a club show in Cincinnati. "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ...," Astbury said from stage. "The name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it."Jimmy Page has also been pretty open to the idea noting, "It's a bit silly not to because there is such massive demand. It's a bit selfish to do just one show. If that's it, we probably shouldn't have taken the genie out of the bottle." He also said, "Let's just do the O2 and we'll see what happens from there. I haven't got a crystal ball here and nor have you."My crystal ball says its time for an announcement.
