Tinted Windows -- Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Hanson's keyboardist Taylor Hanson, Fountain of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger, and Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos -- released their debut eponymous album a couple weeks back. Opening on the Billboard 200 at Number 59 the thing screams pop music, the type of music you'd find in a tween flick. Here's the second track from the album, "Messing With My Head." Catchy enough for you?

What a mix! I mean of band members. Yes, Catchy.
Well, as with their single, "Kind of a Girl," the lyrics are pretty weak (but does anyone besides me really care?).
The thing bounces like a big pop bubblegum ball.
As D.G. said, "Catchy," and I always liked Iha's guitar work and Bun E.'s drumming.
This could be a fun album. I am always in favor of more power pop!
BTW, doesn't it seem like the purveyors always seem to burn out quicly or get pushed to the margins. Big Star, The Knack, Dwight Twilley, The Rasberries, even Nick Lowe -- but it's fun while it lasts!

Interesting, a lot of the tween/teen music, if not hip-hop, is very p-poppy. Not sure what the kids are listening to but it seems their influences are more p-pop than rock (I think a lot of parents are exposing their kids to The Beatles and like).

So, I think the future is bright. Like funoka said, I'll take it any way I can get it, when it's done right.
I think this CD holds up. In fact, I have another track from Tinted Windows stuck in my head that I will post soon.

glad y'all seem to like it. i was curious what place in yr hearts this catchy lil tune would find. seems theres a soft spot next to the aorta.
Falls flat with me. Sort of a meh all around. Iha can do better for sure. Perhaps I'm too critical of the genre?
