Kid Rock got off the hook for a copyright infringement case this week. Louisiana musician Troy Landry didn't prove that Rock's "Somebody's Gotta Feel This" ripped off his own music."The works are not so strikingly or substantially similar as to preclude independent creation," U.S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon wrote in her ruling this week, according to the AP. After the judge compared Rock's and Landry's songs she deduced, "a layman would not view the works as substantially similar."Landry said that an 8-second hook of one of his song's was repeated throughout Kid Rock's "Somebody's Gotta Feel This" and that in total the copied hook made up 45 percent of Rock's song. Nice try, guy.
