The Treasure Island Music festival is going bi this year. Now in it's third year, the festival will be split into two genre specific nights. Day one of the festival - Saturday, October 17th - will feature eletronic and dance friendly bands, while day two - Sunday, October 18th - will bring out the finest in indie rock.
Brought to the people thanks to long-time SF promoter Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment, the Treasure Island music festival (TIMF), located on San Francisco's man-made Treasure Island, only has a capacity of 10,000 people. Last year saw the development of the electronica/indie rock dualism when French DJ duo Justice headlined the first night and the Raconteurs closed out night two. Others billed in 2008 included TV On The Radio, Foals, The Kills, CSS, Hot Chip, Goldfrapp, Tegan & Sara, and Vampire Weekend to name a few. 2009's line-up will be announced this summer.
"The third edition of TIMF promises to be the best yet as we present another action-packed weekend of premier indie and electronic talent and myriad other diversions in what we think is the most majestic festival setting in the world," promises Noise Pop founder Kevin Arnold.
Guy is not lying... Check out the photos below - pretty killer. I hear people pull up on boats. Ballin'
