U2 officially released the Neil Jordan-directed video for "Red Hill Mining Town" via the bonus DVD included with their Joshua Tree 20th anniversary box reissue. The Joshua Tree track, influenced by the 1984 UK miners' strike, has never been performed live because ol' Bono can't reach the high notes consistently. In the meantime, Edge and Bono made an appearance at the Mencap Little Noise Sessions at London's Union Chapel, where they performed U2 classics "Stay," "Desire" and "Angel of Harlem." The duo also played a "Wave of Sorrow," a track off the band's b-sides and rarities album that comes with the remastered Joshua Tree, for the first time ever. The track was inspired by a trip Bono made in 1985 to Ethiopia, something he calls "a really important time in the direction of my life and of the band."U2 have also dismissed all 2008 tour rumors saying, "there are no plans for live dates next year - so please don't buy tickets for any U2 shows you see advertised."
