Alt-pop MC Santogold will take to the road for the first time as Santigold, her new moniker, this spring. Born Santi White the MC was forced to change her name from Santogold to Sant-i-gold after 80s gold jewelry infomercial kingpin Santo Gold filed a lawsuit citing infringement. The case was still ongoing as of February despite the name change. Trouble Andrew and Amanda Blank will open on Santigold's spring tour. Following the May/June run Santi will head to the studio to record the follow-up to her now somewhat self-titled debut. But Santi has already been in and out of the studio here and there during all her legal woes, laying down some vocals with the big boys in the Kanye West-produced Jay-Z track "Brooklyn Go Hard." Ooooohhhh that sophomore album is gonna sound so gooood!

Oh, that Boston show sounds soooo gooood. her 1st album was one of my top 10 last year. Maybe her second will follow suit? I hopes!
I still can't get over the fact that she can't go by her established moniker anymore. It's a shame. When I saw her on Fallon's second(?) show, I thought Jimmy completely fucked her name up. Guess not.
Well i WAS always getting them mixed up. One a fantastically talented,attractive young black woman,producing an eclectic music mixture that put her right at the top of the tree in 2008 and that all of my friends,workmates and aquaintences know about.
The other a poitlessly letigious numb-nutted nobody with no sense of humour and an inflated ego,that i only found out about two minutes ago and am probably the ONLY person in Britain,at the moment who has ANY knowledge of,via that particular link,and really really wish i didnt..It's an easy mistake to make.
Honestly...It's like MacDonalds trying to stop that Scottish family business from using it's OWN surname on their shop.It's like veteran English comic Ken Dodd sueing P Diddy for use of the word "diddy" ...er ,it's like Dizzy Rascal, being sued by Vauxhall!..either that or it's nothing to worry about at all,and Santi should go the whole way and use Santi White. It's not going to make her any less good. I shall change my "screen name" in solidarity.
