Cops Confiscate $1.2 Mil In Drug Money From Phish Hampton Run

Posted 9 months ago

While Phisheads recuperate from the band's reunion run in Hampton, thought I'd share a little AP story that just came my way. Over the course of the 3 night Hampton run that brought some 75,000 fans, some ticketless, to the mothership, the police estimated that $1.2 million in drugs were confiscated. Drug trade doesn't seem to be experiencing much of a recession, now does it?

Of the $1.2 mil, $64,000 was just wads of cash seized. The police, about 200 on hand over the course of the 3 nights, made 194 arrests. Doesn't sound like a good time when you put it like that. The arrests were mostly drug related - drug possession, use and distribution.

All three of the Hampton shows, signifying the band's return to form following a nearly 5 year long hiatus, are available as free downloads via "livephish.com.":http://www.livephish.com/ Phish's summer tour kicks off June 4th in Wantagh, N.Y.

As per this piece and some simple math... this number was over exaggerated.
