U2 Keeping Ticket Prices Low At $30 For Stadium Tour

Posted 9 months ago

U2 are headed on a monolith world stadium tour in support of this week's release No Line On The Horizon. Sure there'll be a fair share of $250 seats, but the band are promising to keep at least 10,000 tickets to each concert at $30 a pop. In addition to the $30 ticket the band will be offering GA floor seating at $55, according to Billboard.

The band will play in a 360 floor set-up allowing for more general admission tickets at lower prices. U2's last tour, 2005-2007 Vertigo tour, banked $389 million, placing them in second behind the Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang tour as the highest grossing tour of all time. The Edge is already talking up the production element of the live. "It's hard to come up with something that's fundamentally different, but we have, I think, on this tour," he Told Billboard.com. "Where we're taking our production will never have been seen before by anybody, and that's an amazing thing to be able to say. For a band like U2 that really thrive on breaking new ground, it's a real thrill."

Kicking off in Barcelona, Spain on June 30th this will be the first time U2 go out on the road as a LiveNation singee. The band will play Europe July & August and head over to America for a run of shows in September and October. U2 will plunge down to South America next year sometime.

More tour news will be available March 9th.

Now if ONLY BONO would INSIST THAT ticketmaster, tickets now and live nation are not ALLOWED TO SELL THESE TICKETS, that would be a true VICTORY FOR THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!
