Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr Heading To The Stage Together

Posted about 3 years ago

Stop everything you are doing and book yourself a ticket to New York City for April 4th. What gives? The two surviving Beatles - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will take the stage together. Before you go brushing it off as "it ain't no Beatles without Harrison and Lennon" the "one-off gig":http://www.davidlynchfoundation.org/concert.html will be the first time the surviving pair have come together ;) since 2002, where they last shared the stage for a George Harrison benefit. (Harrison died of cancer in November of 2001.)

The April 4th Radio City gig will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, established so that any child in America can learn and practice Transcendental Meditation and, in theory, lead to peace and prosperity for all. It's not exactly feeding the starving children of the world, but hey, I'll take it if it reunites two members of the band that changed music forever, and only for one or two songs. Donovan, Moby, Ben Harper, Jim James, Eddie Vedder, Sheryl Crow and Paul Horn will also perform. "General admission tickets":http://www.davidlynchfoundation.org/general-admission.html go on sale via TicketMaster on March 9th and range from $79.50 - $504.50.

Rumors ran the mill last year of a McCartney/Starr reunion at the Sound City music festival in Liverpool, the Beatles hometown, for the Capital of Culture '08 festivities, but no dice. Starr also blasted McCartney back in 2005 for not inviting him onstage for his London Live 8 performance which included performances of The Beatles' "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" with U2, and other Beatles tunes "Get Back," "Drive My Car," "Helter Skelter," "The Long And Winding Road" and "Hey Jude." Seems Ringo is letting bygones be bygones.

Wish I could, but I can't. I'll have to wait for the You Tube vids to surface.

Tsk. The real Paul McCartney died in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a replicant called Faul McCartney, played by Phil Ackrill, former guitarist of Denny Laine & the Diplomats.

IMHO I could care less...they had the chanches years ago and just blew them off...I'd be happier if they both went away and retired because neither have nothing original to hear anymore. Thanks for the memories guys, but you're not relevant anymore..at least in my book.

When did the "cute Beatle" also become the short Beatle?? I thought Ringo was just a tad taller than an OOM-PA-LOOM-PA. And is Ringo talking to his fans again? OH GOD, THEY'RE SO CUTE AT THIS AGE!

...am I the only one disturbed seeing the fab four in a sorority style pillow fight...Jesus people, look at that picture...there's way too much enjoyment by four dudes in a hotel room for a picture taken before the Ecstasy craze...

-But then again...I am an evil fuck.
