The Most Obnoxious Concert Ticket Ever

Posted 9 months ago

Do you see that? It's bigger than my bigger-than-usual remote for the $25 cheap-ass VCR I own. Measuring in at 8in x 3.25in my Tuesday night ticket to see Modest Mouse at LA's Palladium was by far the biggest and most excessive exploitation of LiveNation I've ever seen. They dont even make parking tickets that big! Someone explained to me it was for advertising purposes. What a waste of trees.

We can only hope that with the Live Nation // Ticketmaster merger that they'll stick to the usual wallet size stubs.

I would loathe tickets this size.  You're right Charley, keep 'em wallet sized.

I just knew those service charges were going towards making our concert experiences more enjoyable. Give us something for our money....a bigger, better, glossy ticket....maybe the tickets could come as a greeting card that plays one of the band's songs when opened......oh shit! I shouldn't have given them THAT idea!!!!!!

I dont know, I would kind of like it mostly because it would be fun to find a frame for it.

I would not mind having a ticket that big for a Cruise to Hawaii for 14 days

or toFance and Tuscany 30 day's. But not anything else i can think of.

If it's for advertising purposes, I suggest they make a batch of fluorescent 3D ones next time.

Nowadays I get a lot of tickets printed out off of pdf files, not much artwork involved there, glad I was able to save as many of the standard sized stubs as I did over the years, something this sized just wouldn't look right mounted in my scrapbook or plastered to one of my old cassette cases. (memoribilia, what does one do with it all?)
