YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

Barenaked Ladies Axe Cocaine-Snorting Lead Singer

Posted 8 months ago

It's been a bad year for Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page. First there was his little cocaine bust. Then there was the six months probation for the drug charge that followed. Then his bandmate Ed Robertson almost died in an August plane crash. And now Page has been axed from the Canadian pop rock band.

A message on "the band's Web site":http://www.bnlmusic.com/ read: "By mutual agreement, Steven Page will be parting company with the remaining members of Barenaked Ladies. Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, and Tyler Stewart will continue recording and touring together as Barenaked Ladies. Steven Page will pursue solo projects including theatrical opportunities while the band enters the studio in April 2009, and hits the road in the fall."

You can't be releasing children albums and having a dude in your band getting caught snorting lines. Last year the Barenaked Ladies released Snacktime!, a children's album.

"These guys are my brothers," Page continued in the statement. "We've grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future." Reading between the lines, Page is probably on the phone with his dealer as we speak.

Robertson sounded psyched about the demise of the 20 year project that was Barenaked Ladies saying, "It's the start of a new chapter for all of us. Here's to the future!"

Ouch.

I'm a fan of BNL, but really, they're not BNL without Ed *and* Steve.

I hate when bands do that. Call yourselves "The Ladies" or "Barenaked Four" or something, just...it's not the same.

I think they were unselfish, brave and had the concept in mind that make's for a good society.

Many people complain about a Society that, " Suck's" and it is usually because of the non-doers like them!

To make Society better takes hard work of making it better, aka Obama, and work at it and clean it up. This is an incredible group and it took all of them, they loved each other so you can bet on it, they are trying to save his life!
