New Green Day In May

Posted 10 months ago

Green Day and their eyeliner are slowly seeping back into the limelight after months locked away in the studio with producer Butch Vig recording their eighth full-length. Following the trios appearance last night at the Grammy's, where they presented Robert Plant and Alison Krauss with Album Of The Year, the band revealed the new album title, 21st Century Breakdown via the band's Web site. Like 2004's American Idiot the title seems to touch on the current political & economic climate. American Idiot was a direct diss on then-U.S. President George W. Bush and his war efforts.

Due sometime in May 21st Century Breakdown's 16 songs will be chopped up into three different parts/acts - "Heroes And Cons," "Charlatans And Saints" and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades." In addition to the title-track other songs on the LP include "Know Your Enemy", "Viva la Gloria", "Before the Lobotomy", "Christian's Inferno" and "Last Night on Earth."

21st Century Breakdown is available for pre-order via Greenday.com.

I LOVE the photo! Mike Dirnt is clearly saying to the world, "Musically, politically, and philosophically, I'm with these guys. But spending afternoons at Nordstrom's make-up counter with them? Uh.... no."

This is a good playing  and singing group!

Nice to have since we do not get a REAL group that many would enjoy.

I would like to have time to hear all the album.

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!  Although I have to admit, I worshipped American Idiot.  It was just one of those albums that touched me on every level...so it will be hard to follow that act.
