Langerado 2009 Cancelled A Month Before Kickoff

Some things are too good to be true. Langerado 2009 was one of those things. Slated to kick off on March 6th and provide a weekend's worth of booze and drug-induced listening pleasure in Miami's Bicentennial Park, the promoters have called off the festival due to sluggish ticket sales and the weak economy.
"It's become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events," co-promoter Ethan Schwartz explained. "Putting Langerado on hold was the toughest decision we have ever had to make."
Now to cleanup the mess: All ticket will be refunded to credit cards, minus the ordering fee. Looks like Snoop Dogg, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse and Ryan Adams will be getting a little more sun by the Delano pool.

I've been to the pool there at the Delano, and the scenery is niiiice.
dudes in speedos? lol
Ummm, well, yeah, there probably are, somewhere.
lol@dudes in speedos
Damn shame. I probably would have gone this year since you could get there by bus and train. This was the only event like this bringing these kind of acts down here (well the smaller ones).
bummer -
I was crushed when I found out there was no longer a Vegoose festival, after going 2 years in a row. Now another killer festival bites the dust - when will this insanity and outrage stop. What's next...no Coachella (NOOOO, I can't even say that for the fact that it might become a reality.)
I was pissed when Lollapalooza stopped touring, so I totally understand...
i hear you all on this. hopefully it returns the following year although they might have the rep as the festival that gets cancelled last minute.
this really is too bad as someone who went to school in florida, its an annual pilgramige for the past 5 or 6 years. always a great time which is why it grew from a one day festival. unfortunately they forgot about their core fanbase, the economy didnt help, nor did phish playing on the same day. one may think that at least two of these were avoidable though.
p.s as someone ingrained in the florida scene i can assure you it WILL be back in full effect next year.
yeah thats what it seems like they r hoping. i hope they do it in miami too.
