Flaming Lips Lead 1,000 Skeletons At Oklahoma City Halloween Parade

Posted over 2 years ago
This past Saturday the Flaming Lips and a 1000 of their fans participated in Oklahoma City's "Ghouls Gone Wild" Halloween parade. For the Lips' parade float dubbed "March Of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons" the band enlisted 1000 fans donning $25 dollar skeleton costumes and holding torches in the processional. Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne didn't exactly dress up as a skeleton. Instead he marched down the street with all the skeletons inside his huge crowd surfing ball as the band's "Do You Realize??" played in the background. Coyne and co. had to overcome one major obstacle before the parade when fire marshals deemed the skeleton masks unsafe. They blocked the torch holders peripheral vision forcing everyone to paint their face instead. Courtesy of: Yahoo! Music News

  1. Tony Scalzo says For this to occur within the city limits of OKC is a downright miracle. It's a freak of nature! Halloween is truly the new Christmas!

  4. clickpictony says This is exactly why I love this band. They are so crazy and fun. They do silly stuff that always just makes me smile. I'd reccomend those that haven't to see them live. It's a religious experience.
