The Faces Recruit RHCP's Flea For Reunion

Posted 10 months ago

Back in November Faces co-frontmen Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart announced the band's reunion promising a whole album's worth of new material, the band's first since 1973's Ooh La La. More details on that album have leaked today, most notably that Red Hot Chilil Peppers bassist Flea would sit in on the forthcoming Faces reunion tour. Wood and Stewart reportedly spent Christmas and New Years together traveling to Bermuda, Costa Rica, and Miami for inspiration. Following the vacay the duo wrote the new album in 3 days. (Dayum! That's pretty fast!)

Wood said of the writing process, "It wasn't so much a holiday but a mini-world tour." As for Wood's other little rock gig - the Rolling Stones, he revealed that they wouldn't be getting back till 2010 for another world tour. Busy guy for 61.

Love it - still bummed that the Chili Peppers aren't together right now, but I have a feeling they'll get back together.

The two Rod's and Flea make a killer combo though - I can't wait to hear their sound.

i love it too. if you think about the three each one had an exuberance of energy and stage presence. the live show is going to rock your face off, even if everyone thinks they are past their prime.

Wow! Interesting news. I could care less about a new album, actually prefer they didn't make one, but I can't wait for the tour! I just hope they don't play too much new stuff since they probably wont play long sets since they are all a million years old, besides flea. Either way, never thought I'd have a chance to catch these guys live. Now don't go dyin on me before you hit Boston!

Maybe Rod can prove to my friends he was once very cool. Oh wait, my friends won't be there...oh well, Rod's got nothin to prove!

i was unaware they were doing an album as well

be interesting to see if they can make a record that actually sounds like the Faces after all these years

and i gotta agree...those three personalities on stage would have to be a hell of a show

flea is an incredible bassist and i loved him when i saw him with janes addiction, but the classic rock thing, i dunno know, might have chosen someone else

can't wait to hear the record though and would love to see it live

rod's voice is a little thin these days, hope they can wring some texture and punch out of that thing in the studio

The important question: Will the show involve scarves and some footballs?

My abiding memory of the first time I saw The Faces was on their 2d or 3d American tour, playing to a half full Forum in LA, of which 90% were incredibly beautiful young women in very small hot pants. Somehow I don't think that will be the case on this tour.

Perfect world(for me), the new album is great and the tour successful. Ronnie Wood stays with the Faces, the last band he made great music in, and The Stones can recruit Mick Taylor for a Stones/Faces Tour.

Maybe have original GNR open for them.

    Could happen.

I'm glad we've answered that then. I'll make sure to remember my glasses.

A Mick Taylor retro Stones tour would be wonderful. Could Keith handle it? ;-)

Haha, I meant the women would be beautiful in my perfect world, but unfortunately think you are right, it won't be the case in reality!

Keith is so gone he may not remember Taylor!

I haven't yet seen the Stones so I'll take what I can get, but would love to see them with MT.
